I'm not the biggest fan of plastering my story everywhere because this business is not about me. It's about the people that I help. That's why I do what I do, because making an impact means everything to me. And I'm not just saying that for some PR stunt - I genuinely mean it.
But a lot of people wanted to know the story behind scaling my business to multiple 6-figures in less than a year, while working only 10-20 hours/week and delivering world-class results. So here it is, with nothing held back.
The Origin
This isn't my first business. I've always loved building things. Before X, I built esports communities. We owned some of the best teams in Asia, built up a community of 6,600, and received $35,000 from sponsors.
While I was doing marketing for the esports company... I found the marketing side of X. I fell in love with content and the idea of internet business. But I was too scared to put myself out there. So I ignored the opportunity. For 3 years.
My first business crashed so I went back to the "real world." I focused on my studies and my music career. Somehow made it to the Royal Albert Hall (and Carnegie Hall two years later). But in June of 2023, I lost my best friend.
It changed my perspective on a lot of things. One of my revelations? I wanted to live a life I was proud of. I knew I loved entrepreneurship and building businesses. So I decided to get back into the game.
Starting A Creator Business
In July 2023, I started tweeting from the back of a taxi. I was literally "building in public." At the time, I was doing a lot of traveling. While on the road, I was creating content and learning everything I could. I spent the mornings learning about business and the evenings writing about it, documenting everything online along the way.
This is what we call a creator business, where you get paid for creating content teaching people. It's like running an education company but on any topic imaginable. You can build a creator business teaching fitness, teaching accounting, teaching people graphic design, anything.
I had a lot of experience building internet communities from my esports experience. And I knew that other people wanted to learn how to do that, and because of that, I hit 1,000 followers in just 35 days. But then I had another problem: I couldn't monetize the brand.
My First Flop
After 2-3 months, I'd only made $40. On the outside, I was proud. But on the inside, it felt like I'd wasted 3 months for $40. At the time, everybody was launching educational cohorts. So I got together with two others to launch our own. We poured our hearts into the cohort. I'll admit something I don't love: I didn't get more than 5 hours of sleep for two weeks.
You might think this is where I hit it big. But the cohort was a massive flop. I learned my first hard lesson on Twitter. You can put 120% effort into something and it'll still fail. It's like running really fast. But running the wrong way.
Flopping sucks. At this point, I realized most people didn't know what they were doing. So instead of blindly following people... I started experimenting and testing new strategies. I wanted to carve out my own path.
The Second Attempt
The experimenting paid off. In the next 60 days, I passed the 6-figure run-rate and hit the big $10,000/mo mark. At this point, I finally saw something working. And when something works - you follow the momentum.
It was the best feeling of my life: real, numerical proof that I was building something meaningful. I was building a business on my own terms, and the best part was that I was teaching people about my passion and helping others.
Your first $10K feels better than any other milestone. There's nothing like it. And just in time for Christmas... I immediately packed my bags and went on vacation with family.
Scaling the Business
I could've stopped there. I would've stopped there if it was about the money. But I just found building and scaling is fun, plus deep down inside I knew I was capable of more. So I dove headfirst into the next phase.
The next month I jumped from $10K/mo → $30K/mo. But the value is not just in the number. It's about how I got there. I built the business around my life. Not my life around the business. Focusing on sustainability and helping people the whole way through.
I could likely scale faster if I wanted to. But I'm focused on a more sustainable model.
• Dream clients only
• 3-5 hour workday
• Me, VA, and CSM
A lean operation with low stress and high profit margins.
So, What's Next?
I'm taking this model to 7-figures in just 3 hours a day. All while solving problems for awesome people. It's insane that this started in the back of a taxi. But one thing is changing:
After partnering up with the biggest names on X and helping them install content systems… I realized there's a bigger opportunity. For all of us.
Helping $20M CEOs and 7-figure agency owners taught me one thing: the current X strategy is fundamentally broken. People just aren't thinking big enough. I know it sounds cliché but I think most people would benefit from just dreaming bigger.
I hit the 6-figure mark when I stopped listening to the common guru advice. There are always idiots on the internet pretending that they know everything. You gotta tune them out (and you can take what I say with a grain of salt too.) There's a better, easier way to build a client business.
With a massive personal brand on the front end. And a lean, profitable consulting business on the backend. It's never been easier to build a business around your passion.
That's the end of the story (so far.) $100K/mo coming up next. Sounds crazy but I know it's possible. Because if you learn one thing from my story:
Dreaming big will never hurt you. You need to be a little crazy to win.
